For real, I feel like kiriko was perfect the way she is and really kept the game balanced. I feel like she is only getting nerfed because all tank and dps players complain that some of their plays get denied :/ lol

Kiriko gets way too much value on a short cooldown, this is a good change

@@Sol-qq8bb If we want to talk about heroes who get "too much value" on a short cooldown, let's talk DvA. Defense Matrix eats many enemy abilities and ults, many forms of enemy healing, most forms of damage, and all on a resource mjeter so she can both be using it AND saving it for clutch moments. DM is a FAR bigger problem to play around because unless you demech her, you can never know if it's safe to use an ability she can eat near her. Sucks to get a big shatter cleansed? It also sucks to have dva eat most of a reaper ult, phara ult, soldier ult, cassidy ult, hog ult, make window worthless, eat mei ult, eat hanzo ult, bastion ult, Ashe ult, Torb ult, Tracer ult, Zarya ult, etc. "Dva isn't even that good." is the usual response. Well, by winrate, she's better than Kiriko. What does that say?

@@makingmonsterart It says that there are more people that try playing Kiriko without knowing how to play her. And that there's not a lot of tank players remaining, so those that still do play tank are going to be good on their heroes

@@bohdanpyzh2712 Dude, that's not how percentages work. The number of tanks there are, or how good they are, doesn't change ideal win rates. There's 1 tank per team. For every tank that wins a game, another loses, no matter how good they are. As for Kiriko, are you telling me she so good she NEEDS to change, but players just don't know how to use her, and they are failing on her more often than other less good supports? That MIGHT be possible, but we'd see a big spike in wins at the top... and we don't. The very best players get an extremely average win rate with her.

Honestly, it feels like every patch they just throw a dart board at buffs and nerfs, just to shake up the meta. Only problem is, there's little rhyme or reason on who gets buffs and who gets nerfs. They'll buff heroes no one thinks are under performing, and nerf heroes with low win rates. It's tiring. I'd rather they strive for actual balance, and let new maps, new game modes, new heroes, hero reworks etc change up the meta instead.

@@makingmonsterartthey have to throw things at the wall regardless. You can have a perfectly balanced game and people will complain it’s boring. They need to buff and nerf heroes to keep the game moving

@@Daveyjonesvi I think that's only true when there isn't new content being made. A new hero (and to a lesser extent a new map or game mode) shuffles around who is going to be considered good. A new hero might synergize well with a hero that is not often seen as being "good," and suddenly the meta shifts. How good some heroes are fluctuates naturally based on what other heroes are getting played. Content potentially changes the meta more than a dozen kinda random small buffs and nerfs. If they want to keepthings changing up, do map modifiers instead of constantly tinkering with heroes that don't actually need changes. Spend that hero dev time on doing those hero reworks a hell of a lot faster.

The dumb thing is, Shatter is already an ability with few counter plays. If your team's tank won't play a barrier tank, then Shatter will just always land, and without Suzu as a possible counter, there's no reason for it to not win team fights pretty much every time. What are you going to do, play a zero mobility Zen, hide around a corner and wait to ult to save people from Shatter? Play Lifeweaver and save one person?

@@makingmonsterart Or you could - and hear me out on this - not group up in front of Rein that has shatter. Like, maybe, use high ground or other safe positions. Or play someone that can interrupt the shatter animation. Or even use that same Suzu to i-frame the shatter *before* it knocks your team down. But, of course, that's somewhat harder compared to simply sitting on your ass waiting for it to be used, then pressing a button to cancel it out with no precise timing required whatsoever.

@@bohdanpyzh2712 And I could say that suzu just needs the enemy dps to pressure the Kiriko into using it, or the enemy Rein learns to hold shatter. Hold high ground against Rein sounds great and is for sure useful at times, but not all maps have useful high ground to hold. There are times you NEED to be in a position where you can have near constant line of sight of your team. And as for "no precise timing required, it's a reactionary ability dude. It's not fast and can be intercepted. She's supposed to be able to keep her distance, hold high ground, AND have that suzu land the instant Rein tries to Shatter? Why should suzu have a higher skill requirement than Shatter itself? Shatter is extremely generous in range, can reach around corners because it fans out, and it climbs short walls while ALSO going under payloads etc, and while not instant, it's fairly fast compared to ults that telegraph where they'll hit. Shatter is as easy as it gets, and you think it's fair that Kiriko players should literally need to predict a Shatter and already have suzu thrown before Rein even presses the button? Also, when suzu can cleanse Shatter, it's not like Rein gets no value from his ult. Simply holding Shatter so Kiriko is denied using her suzu for anything else IS value. I've been in games where we're at a stalemate where each refuses to use our ability. It cripples Kiriko to not use such a big part of her kit, and while holding onto an ult sucks, it frees up his team to use anti heal, other CCs, etc with basically no worries it will be suzu'd.

@@bohdanpyzh2712this. Suzu is way too strong and doesnt require that much skill, so yes its pretty valid to make it useless against shatter, cuz shatter is fun and yet hard to be used

​@@makingmonsterartyou're asking it to be a catch all utility ability when it basically does it all. I'm a kiriko main and honestly dude, not being able to cleanse hardknocks is fine. We still get Ana sleep cleanse and rein is in such a bad place that it's literally a free win almost everytime. There's are plenty of strategies and counter plays that don't revolve around Kiriko being able to cleanse everything with a relative short cooldown ability. You can still invuln prior and you can invuln after so you miss the direct shatter you're still getting some form of utility out of it. If your entire time communication and strategy boils down to "we'll just use Kiri suzu for shatter," Then it's a poor one and now entirely a throw to do so. Which it already was.

@@polar6066 Cuz it was fun to throw barriers as Symmetra and save people? She was the first Bodyguard Support way before Brig was even a thing, but no one played her that way, because she had too much damage output (and no healing in her entire kit, which also was a big issue)

@@moomeio first they design a horse(an animal known for running) as a stationary defense character. then they rework her to be a rushdown tank she still can't be ridden like a horse. unplayable

zen still has more mobility than ana bc of his ult. Ana is literally the only character in the game w 0 mobility but i understand your point !
